Chiclana City Council has launched a broad campaign to publicize the Museum of the City between the schools and colleges of the town, intended to encourage visits to the museum space and bringing young people the opportunity to learn directly from a part of the history of the town, thanks to both the renewal of content experienced with the arrival of the artifacts on loan from the Museum of Cadiz, from nine sites in Chiclana, and the new temporary exhibition hall.

For this, the mayor, Ernesto Marin, sent to the directors of these centers in a letter formally inviting school groups to make use of this facility, "so much so that students can learn the history of Chiclana to serve as a support for the pedagogical work of teachers, so that they can take advantage of the renewal to which has undergone the Museum of the City ".

This outreach will be completed soon with the extension of it to the existing neighborhood associations in the city, so that all can benefit from Chiclana new phase of City Museum, located in the Briones House in the Plaza Mayor.

This new stage is carried out by a sample of a hundred pieces focused on prehistoric times, Phoenician and Roman, among which are useful, idols, remains of amphorae, pottery and coins, among other fragments, as well as others belonging to the time medieval and seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

The arrival of these pieces has led also reminded the mayor in his letter, "a rearrangement of the exhibition spaces, becoming the first floor in a monograph devoted to the prehistoric epoch, which has grown from a single case to five , while the second floor has also expanded its shows about the Roman and Phoenician with two showcases new and important pieces on loan from the Museum of Cadiz ".

Furthermore, in this new phase, the museum offers the Temporary Exhibition Hall, located on the ground floor, a sample from the municipal scenic backdrops.

Note that since it reopened last mid-February, more than 1,500 people have visited the offices of the City Museum. Among the objects that have aroused greater interest is the "Idol Cylindrical", belonging to the Prehistory, Copper Age, located on the first floor of the building. Made of marble limestone shows a decoration by incised lines, which include circular eyes with long radial eyelids, called "eyes suns" and according to some authors, represents the "Great Mother", associated with fertility earth.
