Salón de actos del Museo

Last Thursday, 17th February, finished satisfactorily the first of the activities programmed for the temporary exhibition “Andalusian Values, with Andalucia in the pocket”, which is taking place in the Museo de Chiclana until August 10. The conference, wich was given by José Luis Morilla, was a great opportunity to know better those small and big details about the life and work of the Cadiz botanic Celestino Mutis.The conference was introduced by the director of the Museo, and it was also witnessed by the Delegate of Culture, Pepa Vela.

Last week took place the presentation of some pieces in the Museo de Chiclana.On the one hand, it was presented “La pieza del Mes”, the original book of Padre Salado.He was a parish priest who stood out for defending the workers and he founded the Sindicato de Viticultores Chiclaneros.The book is accompanied with a commemorative medal.

Last 27th of January was inaugurated “Andalusian Values, with Andalucia in the pocket” the new temporary exhibition of the Museo de Chiclana.

The contents were presented by the Delegate of Culture, Pepa Vela, and the Director of the Museum, Jesús Romero. This exhibition is open to the public until 10th April.

The Delegate of Culture, Pepa Vela, and the Director of the Museum, Jesús Romero, inaugurated an exhibition about engravings 'Original and Multiple, the Approximate Art’ on 6th of August. It is an exhibition which contains more than 40 originals works created in the XVIII and XIX century, and they are accompanied by original manuscripts and books. (…)

Progressive Women Association Mª Luz Sánchez Carmona visits the Museo de Chiclana

Progressive Women Association 'Mª Luz Sánchez Carmona' visited the temporary exhibition 'Echoes of a daily life.Witnesses of the fond memory" last Wednesday July 8th.

This new activity is an addition to an endless number of cultural activities carried out in parallel by this group.Such was the case that is not the first time they visit the Museo de Chiclana.

Salas del Museo de Chiclana

Ten Secondary Education Centers have visited the Museum of Chiclana during the months of february and march as part of the initiative 'Visit your city' and the programme 'Know your Council', an activity encompassed in the Educational Management Programme of the Chiclana City Council that is being developed by workers of the employment plan 'Emple@ Joven'.

In this way, more than 400 students who have come to our facilities have had the opportunity to know the history of our city through guided tours led by the staff of our center.

The portrait of Antonio García Gutiérrez, which is found in the recently refurbished room of XIX century figures, copy of José Dodero of the original of José Sánchez Pescador's picture, already has a new frame, acquired by the Museo de Chiclana.

The Museum of Chiclana increases by 30 per cent the number of visitors during 2014

The Museum of  History is visited by over a thousand people in each of the summer months, improving their figures every month.

Preparations to host the exhibition “Vox Clamantis. Arte e historia de la Iglesia Mayor de San Juan Bautista. 1814 – 2014” have started.

Museo de Chiclana begins this week with the dismantling and preparation of the temporary rooms that will host the exhibition dedicated to the Bicentenary of the Main Church and organized by the city council and San Juan Bautista Church.


In this way, the temple which was designed by Torcuato Cayón and finalized by Torcuato Benjumeda, will be the indisputable subject of the last two months of the year in the Museum de Chiclana, occupying the hall and two temporary showrooms since the 6th November until the 12th January 2015.

Next Friday, September the 26th, our museum starts a new collaboration with CEEI Bahia de Cádiz, hosting the third edition of the conference program "Communicate your company." Thus, we open a new cycle of workshops and, this winter, they will be hold in the Museo de Chiclana in four occasions.
