As part of ONCE Social Group Week, the mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, took part this morning in the event “From the Past to the Future: The Chiclana Museum with Technological Accessibility.” This initiative highlights universal accessibility as applied to cultural heritage and was attended by the director of ONCE in Chiclana, Violeta Saúca; the delegate for Sustainable Tourism, Manuela Pérez; and the delegate for Culture, Susana Rivas.
Thus, the Chiclana Museum opens its doors to tourism managers, institutional representatives, and local authorities, inviting them to experience firsthand an innovative journey through the city’s history, from prehistory to the present day. The visit incorporates accessible technological solutions that facilitate both movement through the galleries and the identification and understanding of the exhibits.
“I’d like to thank the ONCE Social Group for the work it does, because we’re talking about a group that is very active in the community and deeply committed to its mission,” said the mayor, who noted that “this week’s focus is on technology. We’ve tried out a pair of glasses that tell us what’s in front of us and what features can help us get around.”
Likewise, José María Román noted that “ONCE has always been known for being at the forefront, and we must congratulate them on the initiatives they carry out for social and workplace integration.” “Thus, they do not settle for minor matters, but rather for actions as important as technological tools to facilitate social integration,” he emphasized.
