The Museum hosts an exhibition made up of 16 miniature steps of Holy Week in Chiclana

The mayor of Chiclana, José María Román, has inaugurated the exhibition 'A small Big Week', which can be visited at the Chiclana Museum until April 15. An act that has had the presence of the deputy mayor, Francisco José Salado; the municipal delegate for Culture, Susana Rivas; and the president of the María Auxiliadora Nativity Scene Association, José Manuel Vela Bolaños, who has been accompanied by members of the association.
In this sense, the passion for miniature crafts, and specifically for those with religious themes, comes from afar to José Manuel Vela Bolaños, from so far back that he cannot even put an exact date on his beginnings in the affairs of the nativity scene It is not surprising that in 2008 he joined the Nativity Scene Association of our town, an association whose presidency he has held since 2014.
But at the same time, since 2010, he has developed an interesting and beautiful work also linked to miniatures: the recreation of the steps -a total of 16 made to date- of our Chiclanera Holy Week. It is this long and patient work of his that the Chiclana Museum now offers to the public.
"José Manuel Vela Bolaños does not surprise us because there are already many creations from the Nativity Scene Association, with which we have a collaboration agreement," said the mayor, who stressed that "this little Holy Week, which we can enjoy in the City Museum, it is worth seeing, since it is surprising how well done these small Easter floats are, which have the collaboration of Begoña García and Elena Pérez”.
