The Museum of Chiclana hosts the exhibition 'Refluxes. Sculptures of Agustin Perez', which will be open to the public until September 1. The municipal delegate of Culture, Susana Rivas; the author of the works, Agustin Perez, and the director of the Museum, Jesus Romero, have been responsible for inaugurating this exhibition, consisting of 25 creations of Agustin Perez, which represent a mature and solid thematic and plastic unit.
Susana Rivas has pointed out that this is a very original exhibition, composed of works "unique for its polychrome, for its nuances, for the title and for the explanatory labels, which say a lot about each of the pieces". In addition, he invited the public to come to the Museum of Chiclana, "because they will enjoy a different sample".

For his part, Agustín Pérez explained that the exhibition reflects "the movement of the sea, the coming and going of things, being a reflection of my life. Reflux is something acidic that comes from inside you and that is what leads me to make some of my sculptures. He has also thanked the good work and collaboration of the Museum staff for their willingness at all times.
'Refluxes' will surprise many and will not leave anyone indifferent. There is no vision of the world in the figurative work of Agustín Pérez, but a look; a look, his, full of consciously lived life, of an uncommon critical depth in an often complacent art world. And given to turn his face with more indolence than contempt before the less pleasing profiles of the reality that one inhabits and that are.
The wealth of details, which is also a wealth of nuances, forces the visitor to a physical approach to the work that becomes an intimate dialogue with these pieces full of suggestions. The hermeneutic keys, with the right clarities and obscurities to give food for thought without cutting the most subjective interpretative horizon, present in the cartouches, written with ad hoc wit and sarcasm by the sculptor, complete this magnificent sample of a work that deserves knowledge and recognition.

Agustín Pérez is a sculptor specialized in papier-mâché and light concrete figures. His work is characterized by a subtle and colorful language, where his female representations stand out and provide almost all the content. Each character or theme present in his work is imbued with a visual narrative that invites you to explore and connect with the work on a deep level. With an exceptional ability to transform simple materials into complex artistic expressions, he continues to challenge the boundaries of contemporary sculpture, offering a fresh and evocative perspective in each creation.
