More than 1,500 people visited the Museum of the City during June

1,551 people visited the Museum of the City during the month of June, according to data provided by the Delegation of Culture. This figure means that in the four months since it reopened on 19 February, after undergoing some important improvements as well as the remodeling of the display space to host the exhibition of over 100 pieces chosen from the nearly 300 from the Museum of Cadiz, the space museum has received more than 6,500 visits.

In this sense, the mayor of Culture, José Manuel Lechuga, stressed that this "significant number of people who have come in this time period the City Museum, reflects the interest that exists between Chiclana undiscovered part of its history ".

Also, note that, alongside the permanent collection of the City Museum has exhibitions that serve to attract new visitors, as happened last June with sample itinerant character "Bible and Culture", organized by the Society Bible in Spain, or, previously, with the sample of twenty paintings from pictorial municipal funds, under the theme "Heritage City of Chiclana pictorial".

In regards to last June, so far the month that best attendance records were produced, 1,095 visits were of an individual nature, which have taken advantage of free entry for the Museum of the City, while others 456 took part in the guided tours to groups, from most travel agencies and schools in the locality.

In the section on group visits, notes the arrival of visitors Jerez fifty and thirty residents of San Roque who knew this installation of the hand of the Office of Tourism, through the initiative "Know Chiclana" or the 298 students from schools in the town, such as Isabella CEIP, the CEIP Sancti Petri, and IES García Gutiérrez.

In this regard, Jose Manuel Lechuga has explained that "these school visits is part of the municipality's interest to open the Museum of the City to all social groups and organizations in the town".

Thus, recalled that last May, to commemorate the "International Museum Day", the Delegation of Culture organized a series of visits to this municipal facility for students of the Centre for Adult Continuing Education "Dionisio Montero ".

As for individual visits, the report prepared by the Municipal Cultural Delegation indicated that the busiest days are Wednesday and Thursday. Also, of those 1,551 hits, 588 were women, whereas by age group, notes that 561 were staged under 18, followed by visits pernas 351 over 65.
