The Delegate of Culture and the Director of the Museum, inaugurated an exhibition about engravings 'Original and Multiple, the Approximate Art’

Saturday, August 8, 2015 - 18:20

The Delegate of Culture, Pepa Vela, and the Director of the Museum, Jesús Romero, inaugurated an exhibition about engravings 'Original and Multiple, the Approximate Art’ on 6th of August. It is an exhibition which contains more than 40 originals works created in the XVIII and XIX century, and they are accompanied by original manuscripts and books. (…)

The municipal delegate of Culture, Pepa Vela, (…) claimed during the inauguration that “with this showing we no longer have anything to envy of  other  national museums, both in value and quality, and we believe it will be an important reference that will demonstrate the good work of this delegation and this Museum".

On the other hand, Jesús Romero, emphasized that this exhibition responds to a very specific idea and is nothing less than "the engraving as a tool for cultural diffusion in Enlightenment times". (...)

The Director of the Museum stresses the fact that this exhibition has several engravings of Goya. "In three of them, Goya reproduces the work of Velázquez and we also have Goya as a viewer, because Goya interprets and this is noticeable in the fluent line that distinguishes it from the elaborated line in the XIX century.

This exhibition will be exposed until 9th of October from Tuesday to Friday (10:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:00), Saturdays and Sundays in the mornings (10:00-14:00). Entry is free of charge.
