On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the blessing and worship in Chiclana of the Divina Pastora de las Almas, the Municipal Delegate of Culture, Susana Rivas, opened at the museum the exhibition "Pastora. A decade in Chiclana, a devotion according to the gaditanos" that, organized by the Parish Association of the Divina Pastora de las Almas, brings the general public to this devotion as popular as Andalusian born in the capital of Seville by the hands of Fray Isidoro de Sevilla.
Francisco Ariza, who has curated this exhibition, has drawn two different and complementary lines along which the newly opened exhibition runs: on the one hand, this exhibition seeks to share with the public the material heritage -art, crafts- that surrounds the Pastora chiclanera; on the other, it traces a historical and geographical tour of the pastoral devotion in the province of Cádiz.
As for the sample of the material heritage of the Divina Pastora de Chiclana, the exhibition offers the public various pieces: gold work, such as the ring of stars and the heart made by Olmo Quiros or the staff of the Virgin made, work of Bernet; original modeling of the bust of the Divina Pastora and the lamb made in 2013 by Miguel Angel Valverde; and the hat of the Virgin made by Antonio Jesús Ruiz Butrón and floral ornamentation of José Carlos Hernández. The original posters also play an important role in the exhibition of this heritage. Among other pieces, works by Ricardo Pueyo and Valentín Rivera are on display.
Relevant pieces from other localities are also exhibited on this occasion, such as the goldsmith pieces of Antonio García Tello or the Niño Jesús de Berraquero, in addition to a wide photographic exhibition that brings us closer to the images that are venerated in different localities: Arcos, San Fernando, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, San Roque, Chipiona, Facinas,... In some localities, such as Cádiz or Jerez, twice.
