Susana Rivas opens the exhibition 'Sopirocallasso' on two of the great artists in the history of Spain, which can be visited until February 18.

The municipal delegate of Culture, Susana Rivas; the director of the Museum of Chiclana, Jesus Romero; and the head of EQartis, Eduardo Martinez, have opened this morning the last exhibition season of the year 2023, 'Sopirocallasso', which can be visited until February 18. A sample, through which the Museum of Chiclana joins, welcoming this new initiative of EQartis, the unanimous worldwide tribute that, through multiple exhibitions, recognizes two of the most important names that Spain has given to the History of Art, Sorolla and Picasso.

In this way, the visitor will be able to enjoy intellectual, aesthetic and artistic perspectives that are revealed in these copies of some of their best known masterpieces, organized through the most common genres, with a parallel treatment at times or, at other times, with an antagonistic treatment. Thus, we will have the opportunity to see the self-portrait, the portrait, the nude, the painter and the model, the muses, the pain, the death of the hero, the social painting, the still life, the landscape,... All this makes up the first part of an exhibition that serves to draw a bridge between both giants of art, and that undoubtedly immerses us in a fascinating visual and conceptual dialogue.

In the second part, the exhibition proposes, as opposed to the veneration of the ashes in the wake of the two ephemeris, to rekindle the flame. Thus, this second space becomes exciting territory of artistic fusion where new technological advances have been the inspiring instrument, opening up and opening us to the opportunity to experience in combination both the themes and styles of both painters.

"Today we close the cycle of temporary exhibitions of 2023 of the Museum of Chiclana, where we have had a score of samples, with this one dedicated to two greats like Sorolla and Picasso, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Ruiz Picasso and the centenary of the death of Joaquín Sorolla," said Susana Rivas, who thanked the people who have participated in the promotion of the exhibition, as well as Eduardo Martínez and the students of EQartis for the work done.
For his part, Eduardo Martinez has stressed that in the creation of the sample involved more than 50 people, who have made almost 70 works. "We are talking about a group of students who love art," said the head of Eqartis, who thanked the City of Chiclana and the Museum for their treatment and the opportunity to expose this sample.
